Organic Hair Loss Treatment

Not keen on using synthetic hair loss medication? Try using some herbal and organic hair loss treatment that has been used for centuries. Here are some of the more famous ones.

4 Types of Organic Treatments for Hair Loss

1. Saw Palmetto

Extracted from the berries of the dwarf palm-like plant Serenoa Repens, Saw Palmetto has become quite popular as a DHT inhibitor in male pattern baldness. Initially used to treat prostate enlargement, its effective action against the 5-Apha-Reductase enzyme in creating DHT acts similarly as Finasteride, an FDA-approved medication that has proven effective in growing healthy hair in balding men and women.

2. Nettle Root

A garden variety shrub called Urtica Dioica or Stinging Nettle, it is known for inhibiting 5-Alpha-Reductase action in DHT production and has been used as an herbal medication for treating prostate problems. As such, its efficacy is similar to that of Saw Palmetto and Finasteride in treating male pattern baldness.

3. Aloe Vera Gel

The cactus-like plant has been a favorite among herbalist for its various health benefits. The gel squeezed out from its tendrils can be directly rubbed onto the balding areas of the scalp to cleanse and treat scalp disorders that cause hair loss. It can also be made into shampoo with coconut oil or wheat germ oil. It does not directly address male pattern baldness but is best used to treat hair loss resulting from scalp problems.

4. Jojoba Oil

Another herb enjoyed by Mexicans and Native Americans for centuries as an effective treatment against scalp disorders like dandruff that often comes with falling hair. It also acts to stimulate weakened hair follicles to promote healthy hair growth. It acts as moisturizer as well, maintaining sebum, the hair’s natural oils, at the right levels.

Using either synthetic or organic hair loss treatment in addressing male pattern baldness involves a lifelong commitment. Once you go into intensive hair regimen, you can’t be intermittent in your application as the efficacy of the substance used requires diligent use. Stopping at any time will just resume the hair loss.
